Multiple Unit Trains Period
Multiple unit (MU) train is beginning during 1990s in China.
Diesel MU trains were open to the traffic in 1999 and ran railways between Nanchang-Jiujiang and Nanchang-Ganzhou (in Jiangxi province). There are nine units of trains under way, two in Nanchang and seven in Harbin with speed at 140 km/h.
In 1999, another DMU was put into operation in railways of shanghai-Ningbo. It was named Xinshuguang and at 180 km/h.

In 2001, Zhongyuanzhixing was put into the railway of Zhengzhou-Wuhan.

Since the sixth of speed-up in 2007, Hexiehao was open to the traffic.
